No on-street parking is permitted between the hours of 2:00 am and 7:00 pm. Violators will be fined.
Zoning Information
Residents are reminded that a permit is required before beginning many types of construction (i.e. additions, fences, signs, change of use, demolition, etc.). If you need an application for a permit or are unsure if you need a permit, please call the Zoning Officer listed on the Government page.
Burning Days
Please remember that outdoor burning days are Wednesday and Saturday only from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm est. Only paper and wood products can be burned and all burning must be confined to containers no larger than 55 gallons. Violators will be fined.
Recycling in the Borough
Erie County has a recycling center located at the Quality Market, 230 Hight Street in Waterford. Items that can be dropped off are glass, aluminum, tin & bi-metal, plastic, which generally includes all plastic containers labeled 1 thru 7, and plastic bags. These items go in the blue bins.
Paper products, such as corrugated cardboard, newsprint, including inserts delivered in subscriptions, and promotional newspapers and similar periodicals, magazines and junk mail. Pizza boxes, styrofoam, cat litter, lawn chairs, mattresses, pirces of metal, household garbage, etc. are not to be included in the recycling bins. Please read the sign at the site for items that can be recycled or check with Bill Strohmeyer, recycling Coordinator at 796-6581. If anyone notes someone putting non-recycling items in the bins, please get the license plate and provide this informationn to Bill Strohmeyer or D Blakesley at 451-6019.
Per Waste Management, the Waterford Recycling site is averaging between 15 and 20% garbage being includded in the recycling when sorted at their recyling center in Ohio.
Borough Building Activities
Senior Citizens: Meets each Friday from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Exercise Class: Meets each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, beginning October 16.
For rental of the Borough Building, contact Una Mae VanDyke at 796-4263. For rental of the park gazebo, contact the Mayor. The Mayor may also be contacted for information on the Park Square Farmer's Market.
Garbage Disposal Information
Waste Management - Provides weekly pick-up on Fridays. The cost is $46.50 with tote per quarter.
Welka's Disposal - Provides weekly pick-up on Wednesdays. The cost is $46.50 per quarter. Phone: 825-9711 or 866-0005.
